As the race between COVID -19 variants and vaccine rages on and nations cautiously work to adapt to a more functional way of life, COVID - 19 testing remains a necessity. Specifying accreditation of testing laboratories as one of the requirements will help ensure competence and the reliability of results. SADCAS has accredited two (2) more COVID-19 testing laboratories bringing the number of COVID-19 testing accreditations to three (3).

In order to achieve its mandate and in line with international best practice, accreditation assessments are undertaken, on behalf of SADCAS, by a pool of registered Assessors and Technical Experts who make recommendations for accreditation decision by the SADCAS Accreditation Approvals Committee (AAC).

In response to the growing relevance of accreditation in SADC member states and beyond, SADCAS continues to invite experts with specific technical expertise to register as SADCAS Technical Assessors and Technical Experts for various prioritized scopes.
